What is the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) Designation?
SRES® is the only designation and marketing program specifically designed to serve senior property owners.  SRES® designees demonstrate requisite knowledge and expertise to council senior clients through the major financial and lifestyle transitions involved in relocation, refinancing, or selling a home.
 
What is the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council (SAREC)?
The Senior Advantage Real Estate Council is the organization is that confers the SRES® designation to REALTORS® nationwide.  It is the largest and most comprehensive seniors program in the real estate industry.  SRES become members of the Council, which provides an umbrella of services such as quarterly newsletters for your clients, web site exposure, plus hot topics, marketing and legal updates via member memos.

Through completion of this course a REALTOR will:
 
  • Understand the range of housing and developmental needs of each of the major segments of the growing mature population.
  • Be able to develop and maintain the "senior" client relationship while earning the respect and trust of the mature client.
  • Understand the major concerns and fears facing each segment of today's mature client population and have the tools needed to effectively address them.
  • Working with their goals, create a personalized housing plan for mature clients.
  • Use counseling tools that reinforce the comfort and confidence required by today's mature client.
  • Be able to help maturing clients take positive action in estate, real estate and financial planning without offending them.
  • Understand the various professional services and lifestyle needs of maturing clients.
  • Develop concepts of how to move from a selling (sales person) style approach to one of the professional counselor / advisor.
  • Develop team-building skills with family members and other professional service providers in the community.
